Fire Safety Liaisons will work to support ongoing and new wildfire preparedness and mitigation programming. In particular they will support the following programs: Firewise Community Workdays, The Wildfire Learning Center, GSOB Monitoring and Early Detection, Home Ignition Zone Evaluations and Community Presentations, and FIREWISE and Local Fire Safe Council Support.
The start date for this position is August 1, 2025. This position is intended to support wildfire resilience programs for 1-2 years. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis. It is the intention of SMMFSC to find other funds to continue the position permanently. The position is salaried at 4,000 per month. This salary is based on an hourly rate of $25.00 for 40 hours a week. In addition, benefits will be offered including United Healthcare, vision, dental, and a retirement plan option.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, biology, land management, fire ecology, or other related fields
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively
● Passion for community service, conservation, and environmental science
● Curiosity and willingness to learn new skills and knowledge areas
