Organize your team
Form a team of 3 to 5 community leaders and designate a point of contact. Ensure you have 8+ homes interested in participating.
Work with our team to finalize your application. Then, get approved! Estimated approval time: 2- 4 weeks
Assess wildfire risk
Schedule a Firewise USA Community Risk Assessment with our team. Email jojo@smmfsc.org for scheduling.
Record and report
Keep track of fuel reduction activities (examples here) and report volunteer hours annually (example google form here: make a copy to use for your community)
Develop a 3-year Action Plan that outlines annual objectives along with measurable results, that the outcome levels advance each year.
Annual outreach event
Host an annual community outreach event to discuss projects and action plan items.
